A Lesson On Not Giving Up

"Never give up!" are those famous words
quoted by many encouraging mentors.
"It's always to soon to quit!" they
say. Keep on trying.

Ironically, those were the same words that
entered my mind as I struggled to get my
portable CD player to start playing again.

You see, recently I moved and unfortunately some things
still remain packed away in boxes. As I had the urge to
listen to a motivational CD while I was working in a
particular area of the house, I began searching for my
portable CD player. For this was the only way I could
hear the message while in that room.

Well, I unraveled different boxes in hope of locating it,
yet I kept coming up empty handed. Finally, after about a
good thirty minutes of looking I found it!

So eagered to hear the message, I knew the batteries must
be replaced. Got that done, put on my headset, then popped
in the disc, pushed play and all I got was a loud clicking
sound.

Needless to say frustration began to set in. My mind was
baffled because it played just perfect before the move.
I began to adjust this, that and the other. Still the
only sound was click, clack, click, click.

Feeling defeated, my mind said "well it's time to throw it
out and purchase a new one." Just hearing that, out of sheer
frustrating I forcefully wiggled this and jiggled that and
what do you know? the darn thing started to play just fine.

I burst out in laughter as I was reminded of those encouraging
words by those mentors. "never give up!, it's always to soon
to quit."

Let my little episode serve as a reminder to you whenever you
find yourself in those frustrating moments in life or business.
Don't give up and never quit because eventually things will
change.

How To Choose A Coach/Mentor

There are so many opportunities in life to get sidetracked.
Having a coach will help keep you accountable and focused.

The smartest thing you could ever do is get yourself a coach/mentor.
All the big stars have a coach, some have several mentors. Each
one teach their own specialty. How do you choose the right coach?

If you were married and were seeking marriage counseling,
would you talk to someone who's never been married? I don't think so!
So would it make more sense to get coaching from somebody who has
experienced what you are seeking, or somebody who hasn't?

Many of the coaches today in network marketing have never built an
organization. Or they built it 5, 10, 15 years ago, but they can't
build it today. So these network marketing coaches go out and teach
people how to do what they can't do. What they did 10 years ago
worked 10 years ago. But it doesn't work today.

So instead of being on the cutting edge of technology and learning
and USING the state-of-the-art in network marketing business-
building, they hold themselves up as a coach!

If you're going to be coached, you want to be coached by somebody
who is currently doing it NOW, someone who is active today.

It's crazy, but there are even "coaches" who promote it as a virtue
that they no longer do network marketing. They'll tell you this lets
them be objective. They'll tell you that you don't need to worry
about them recruiting you into some other business.

Here is the truth: there's a lot more money in network marketing than
there is in coaching - IF you can actually do network marketing, then
you can do the coaching anyway, while you're building your business.

So why isn't this person in network marketing anymore?
Easy. It's because they can't do it. Plain and simple, they can't build it.

It is completely insane to choose as your coach someone who is not
currently successful at network marketing. You are being ripped-off,
plain and simple.

Here's another thing, 90% of these coaches tell you that YOU have to
change. They say you have to get out of your comfort zone, become
this "A" type personality. And THAT is the reason it doesn't work.

Most top business people have or once had a true mentor, someone
who's done it before and knows what to do. The person with a mentor
has a big advantage. I would be honored to be YOUR mentor, no
matter what company you are in.

Success Road Is Under Construction

What's the best road to choose, Dead End or Under Construction?

Your road to success should always be under construction.
What???? Yes! If you are striving for any level of success,
never consider yourself as having already arrived.

The reason being is there's always room for growth in your
business. There's always another meeting to attend, or a
self development book to read. There's always something to
learn. Great mentors will tell you, "if you are not learning,
then you are not growing".

Real leaders are constantly putting themselves to the challenge
to move up higher and take the next step upward. Smart people
don''t talk themselves out of success.

Winning doesn't happen automatically. It requires much
preparation. You have to prepare for the opportunities to be a
winner. So, the road to success is currently under construction if
you are traveling in the right direction.

Succeed By Your Strengths

How would you answer this question;
"which is more important to work in,
your strengths or your weaknesses?"

I don't know about you, but I was
always told through the years to
work on my weakness. To get better
and build them up to the level of my
strengths.

Thank God for true mentors that teach
us the real deal. These are mentors that
have been there, done that, and are now
living the life of their dreams. They know
the best route that leads to success, therefore
they teach that truth.

A good mentor will tell you to work on your strengths,
instead of your weaknesses. They will encourage you to
be who you are and get better at it. They emphasize the
importance of keeping things simple. It's been said that
simplicity is the ultimate duplication.

If you are to become a mentor and a leader, it is critical
that you do things in simple fashion, for simplicity is what
duplicates.

Learn to first be a good follower, then lead by example and
focus on your strengths rather than your weakness.

Network Marketing Leadership Wisdom

I was listening in on a very unique coaching call the other
night. The call was hosted by a gentleman that I am proud
to call one of my mentors. I also call him my Hero.

Art Jonak. If you are ever in the presence of this young man,
or you have the priviledge to hear him speak, you WILL want
to put on your listening ears AND take notes.

For he is filled with wisdom and the things he speaks just
may be the wisdom that'll push you over the edge of success.

With that being said, on this call Art had some very profound
knowledge to share with all that were in listening mode. This
teaching was so powerful, I felt the need to share it with you
here.

He proposed a question; "Have you ever learned anything while
you were talking?" Hmmm! Art is a master teacher on Leadership
skills and he wanted to get the point across to leaders about the
importance of listening to people. Sure, everyone wants to be heard
yet, sometimes it is more important to be a listener.

He also stressed that the size of a leader, can be measured by
the size of their relationships. So the cliche' seek to understand
before we are understood rings true in the leadership arena.

Wouldn't you say ?

Art Jonak says we should ALWAYS be learning something new.
Another great piece of advice he shared was, whenever you are
in the presence of wisdom, you better be listening more than you
are talking. Great leaders are created by first being great listeners.
